Rustico Alexandria & Ballston Launch Millstone Cider in NoVa: 4
Delicious Artisanal Ciders on Draft with Special Cider Pairings & Meet
the Millstone Crew!

We will be pouring the deliciously complex, singular and impressive
ciders of Millstone Cellars for the very first time on May 4th and
5th, at Rustico Ballston and Rustico Alexandria, respectively. Both
events will officially begin at 6pm.

Locally located in Monkton, Maryland, Millstone Cellars is the
brainchild of Kyle Sherrer and his father Curt, and was established
with the vision of creating intriguing ciders and meads using the best
local ingredients. At Millstone, they truly make Artisanal Cider.

In recreating early America’s libation of choice, Millstone's cider is
crafted from pressed locally-grown heirloom cider apples, oak barrel
fermented, and then matured. Once barreled, the ciders are left to
undergo a long, cool fermentation, slowly developing character and
complexity. Each apple varietal is fermented to dryness and aged for
5-12 months before being hand-selected from barrels to blend into the
finished cider.

For this occasion, we will be pouring 4 different Millstone ciders,
and the list will be mirrored for each event. Kyle will be in the
house to raise some glasses and to share some of his fascinating
stories from the world of craft cider.

Millstone Farmgate: An unfiltered, traditional oak barrel-fermented
and aged cider crafted from a blend of tart heirloom cider apples.

Millstone Cobbler - A blend of oak barrel-aged cider and Bourbon
barrel-aged peach wine.

Millstone Hopvine - Exclusively pressed from York Imperial apples then
oak barrel-aged on Cascade hops.

Millstone Gingeroot - Pressed from Mcintosh and Summer Rambo apples
then oak-aged with organic baby ginger.

Our Rustico Chefs adore the Millstone ciders and all of their inherent
food-friendly qualities. For this event, the Rustico kitchens have
joined forces to craft two distinct dishes that pair beautifully with
not one but two Millstone Ciders. Be sure to taste each dish with its
respective pair of possible cider matches, and decide which cider
pairs best with each dish!

Here are the special Millstone Cider NoVa Launch food and cider offerings:
